Father Matthias is a wonderful preacher with a rich voice.  Listen and follow along with him as he offers meditation on the words of St Paul.   Pope Benedict XVI has declared this to be the “Year of St Paul.”  What better way to reach the heart of Catholic prayer with St Paul’s message than this Pauline rosary?

At least 20 volunteers are needed at all times to be of service to the poorer neighbors, as well as any others who are now in need.  Counselors will be available; a chapel for prayer and rest; a kitchen offering a full meal each day, plus snacks and water as needed; and several large tents with new and gently used clothing for folks of all ages, even some doggie toys for needy pets.

If anyone can help out on one or more days a week during one shift or another or even for just 2 or 3 hours occasionally, the community would be deeply grateful.  Although a volunteer orientation meeting took place today about the jobs and how to best do them, “on the job training” will be provided to those who couldn’t attend the meeting.

If you cannot volunteer at this time, please let others know, so they may help.  Feel free to forward this email to as many as possible.

Daniel Cardinal DiNardo: It is absolutely alive … it may be crazy sometimes, but it’s alive and well. I don’t see that in the Northeast. I really don’t see it. I don’t see it among our leaders, I don’t see it among some of the university people, and I don’t even see it among all of our Catholics. But when you go south of the Mason/Dixon line and get into the Bible Belt, it’s still there. The Biblical vocabulary and imagination is alive.”
