Baptized as a new creature in Christ when she was two months old-on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes-Marisa has had a strong development in the catholic faith. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a major in English and a minor in Theology to better prepare herself to homeschool her three children. Soon she volunteered to head up the CCE program and youth outreach apostolate at St. Charles Borromeo. After 15 years of service at St. Charles she became the Director for Religious Education at Holy Rosary Parish in downtown Houston where she still teaches young and old about Jesus. Veritas is fortunate to have someone as experienced as Marisa is in handing on the Faith!

In 1989, with the support of several committed volunteers, Margaret helped establish Veritas Catholic Bookstore. The mission of the store was simple: evangelization. For six years the store operated through a series of very hard-working volunteers. Their goal was to erect a bookstore with the best publications on the Faith in English. The main crieteria for the selection of titles was fidelity to Magisterial teaching. Margaret knew there was a thirsting among Catholics to learn the Faith in greater depth. The goal of Veritas was to supply the information many Catholics lacked through a great selection of books and multimedia resources. Margaret continues to be the leading spirit behind the store’s outreach to the Catholic community. We are greatful for her years of service at the store.

Baptized an Episcopalian, but raised a materialist, Daniel quickly became disenchanted with what the world had to offer. At age fifteen he began to read the Gospels for the first time and attended his first Catholic Mass. Amazed at what he found he immediately bought a catechism at Veritas Catholic Bookstore. Daniel was received into the church at Mount Carmel High School Chapel in 1998. In June of 2000 Daniel joined the Veritas Family, and in 2001 married his beloved wife, Michelle. They both cherish their son, Elijah,as Daniel continues to work full-time at Veritas as manager.
